The Stadtteilbeirat in Wilhelmsburg is a local neighborhood council made up of residents who work to improve living conditions in the area and represent the community in urban planning discussions with the local government. One of the council’s key goals was to improve public awareness and perception of their work, ensuring that community members were always informed about current initiatives. Additionally, they wanted the website to serve as a central hub where residents could easily reach out to their representatives in the Stadtteilbeirat.

With that in mind, I was commissioned to design and develop a new website using Webflow. From 2019 to 2023, I worked closely and continuously with the Stadtteilbeirat team to bring this project to life. It was important to me that the design reflected the spirit of Wilhelmsburg—a neighborhood shaped by its proximity to the River Elbe and its vibrant, creative community. I chose warm, inviting colors that balanced approachability with the representative role of the council. To emphasize local identity and integration, I made extensive use of photographs from the neighborhood, helping users visually connect the council’s work with the place they call home.
